The unique, passive capillary thin-layer drainage
for thin-layer, floating laying of ceramic and natural stone components.

Watec®Drain KP is the only passive capillary thin-layer drainage that is laid loose, i.e. without bonding to the substrate. The 100% uncoupling and drainage ensures the prevention of frost damage and efflorescence and considerably speeds up the drying of the structure. The Watec®Drain RD drainage gutter allows for standard-compliant door threshold connections even at low connection heights.

Tile and natural stone coverings (calibrated) in a thin and medium bed

Substrate/covering

Substrate requirements: Even, pressure resistant, non-flexing  (cannot be used directly on insulation)

Suitable substrates:

  • Patio terraces with ground contact, cantilevered balconies
  • Old ceramic tile coverings, floating screeds (on insulation)

Fall:    Min. 1 % to max. 2.5 %

Seal:    DiProtec® SDB sealing sheets, alternative sealings in bond

  • Porcelain stoneware min. 200 x 200mm
  • Stoneware min. 200 x 200mm
  • Split tiles min. 120 x 240mm
  • Frost-resistant and shape-retaining natural stone components (e.g. granite, quartzite etc.) min. 200 x 200 x 15 mm

Advantages of Watec®Drain KP

  • Unique passive capillary thin-layer drainage, laid floating.
    Offers reliable protection from frost damage caused by accumulated water and from efflorescence. A 6 mm layer of air speeds up the drying of the structure. Guarantees 100% uncoupling, giving maximum protection from cracking and delamination of the covering due to shear stress caused by weather conditions.

    Enables standard-compliant reduction of door threshold heights.
  • Unique combination of intelligent special fleece and additional mesh reinforcement.
